 I remember that the treaty of waitangi was signed because there was a fight between pakeha and maori. well also unlike the european settlers were first to land on world they went to different countries to trade for what they got cause the maoris had powerful stuff  that they use for the war time between them and pakeha well not pakeha europeans.
